Pulse
The waves come and go, the moon waxes and wanes.
Watching them, I breathe and my heart beats.
This world is full of various repetitions.
We often forget that fact.
These devices do not remain in the context of “mechanical”,
but as events—or something like poetry—
they function as a catalyst for us to reinterpret the world
as dynamic processes.
Yoshino Takayama (Class of 2025 winner)
Enrolled in the Graduate Program in Integrated Design at Tama Art University.
Working across sculpture, kinetic art, and design, she creates devices that people can’t help but keep watching.
In an age where everything is translated into data and controlled by numbers, she choreographs movement outside the screen, inviting people to rediscover the richness and complexity of the world through the behavior of physical objects.
