Circuit—

‘Circuit—’ is a collaborative project between messagingleaving and ZAP, celebrating the inherent properties of industrial wire—its load-bearing capacity and conductivity. This project features a collection of mobile lighting fixtures and a lighting installation, exploring pure structures and tangible forms through diverse loop circuits.

The two types of lighting fixtures are defined by floating rings and bending arches, influenced by the forces of tension and gravity. The steel cables within these structures function as the positive (+) and negative (-) circuits for the suspended tube lights, creating a dynamic interaction between form and function.

The lighting installation further merges conductivity and tension. Steel cables suspend points of light in mid-air, with mechanical control adjusting the cable length and tension, causing the light to move at varying speeds. By utilizing the principles of afterimage effects, this installation creates glowing, floating trajectories with dynamically changing sizes and brightness, all governed by the physical properties of the installation.
