When Clothing Learns from Skin

We want to share a glimpse into how we create products at Postalco Design Studio.
We've all experienced the discomfort of restrictive clothing while moving. What if our clothes could move with us instead?
To explore this, we partnered with Dr. Naomichi Ogihara, a biomechanics expert at the University of Tokyo. Using motion capture, we analyzed how human skin and our clothing move during daily activities. We discovered that our skin constantly shifts in unnoticed ways.
Postalco Free Arm Wear is designed with v-shaped pleats and unique shapes to mimic your skin's natural flexibility.

Postalco Design Studio

We are obsessed with the design of objects in our daily lives. Postalco is an independent design studio creating products based in Tokyo, Japan for over 20 years. We're committed to return meaning to daily tools in an age of increasing disposability.
We began with accessories and then created many other items; including clothing, rainwear, pens, key holders, bags and others. Postalco products are created to be used by anyone - male or female, young or old, people from all walks of life worldwide. What sets Postalco designs apart is their supreme utility and ineffable warmth blended with the beauty of understatement.
